How to Use This Site:
The tree index on the left of this panel is an alphabetical listing of Butler County place names. These names have been documented by Jim Blount in his comprehensive Index to Butler County Place Names which is another tree-based index on the Lane Public Library website. Therefore, a link is provided to each place name shown on the left, which will take you to Mr. Blount's index. To return to this site, close the window or tab that opens when you click the link.
A place name having a plus sign (+) beside its folder icon is a larger municipal area. Click on the (+) to see an alphabetical sublist of streets in that region. Each of these streets can then be clicked to reveal the link to the Ohio Historical Inventory record form. These forms are in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) which requires a PDF format reader to open it. You can obtain the latest version of Adobe Reader from this link.
A number of addresses in Hamilton, Ohio will also have a link in the form "(Schwartz 194)". Clicking such a link will retrieve a PDF image of the page number (in this example, page 194) in the book, "Hamilton, Ohio: its History and Architecture", by James Schwartz, Ph. D. et al., a publication of the Hamilton City Planning Department, May 1986. The pictures on those linked pages are of higher resolution and larger size than the thumbnails that are included with the OHI forms.
The following links take you to specific sections of Dr. Schwartz's book in PDF format:
